For most people all over the world, when they think of USA, they think of New York, Los Angeles, or Las Vegas.
What they don't realize is that the US is also home to 58 amazing National Parks! Ive been to many of them, but I still have a long way to go to see them all. Without a doubt my favorite one is Sequoia National Park.
What makes this park is so special is the giant sequoia trees, 5 of the 10 largest trees on the planet are located here, including a tree named General Sherman. It is the largest tree on earth, estimated to weigh 2100 tons!
Some of the trees are over 3,000 years old. They are some of the largest and oldest living things on the planet.
Located in western Sierra Nevada, California, these amazing trees grow at certain elevations in the mountains.
Walking in a grove of these trees is one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had.
Though we were there during the summer, the weather in the park was quite cool and shrouded with fog. It added an amazing mystical element to our visit.
We stayed there for several hours, walking amongst these giant trees, I was in awe in every step of the way. Such an incredible and humbling experience for me and my husband. It was a life changing experience for me, making me realize the small role we humans play in the magnificent scale of mother nature.
If you are ever close to this area, Sequoia National Park is definitely a must visit!
